Railroad Employment Injures:

The Federal Employers' Liability Act (FELA) was passed by Congress in 1908 to give employees of railroads the right to recover damages from their employers for injuries sustained on the job. Railroads owe certain basic duties and obligations to their employees. The purpose of FELA is to provide compensation whenever workers are injured or killed due to the negligence of the railroad. Negligence means "failure to exercise reasonable care".
