What Are Civil Rights?

These are rights enacted by congress to protect individuals against violations of the Ohio or United States Constitutions. This includes rights concerning physical safety, freedom from discrimination, free speech, freedom of religion, separation of church and state, and other basic human rights.

More than just a movement, these civil rights form the basis for the continuing evolution of our societal laws and social norms, and have an impact on virtually every aspect of our civilization.
