Union Labor Law
“Our labor unions are not narrow, self-seeking groups. They have raised wages, shortened hours and provided supplemental benefits. Through collective bargaining and grievance procedures, they have brought justice and democracy to the shop floor.”
John F. Kennedy, speech, Aug. 30, 1960
How Can We Help You?
Labor Unions in the United States have a rich history that pre-dates the Civil War. With the inception of the AFL-CIO and Railroad Organizations, strong, permanent, unions began to take shape. Our firm recognizes and appreciates the contributions Unions have made in the advancement of fair working conditions and wages, as well as attitudes and policies on discrimination, global trade, and health care. We see the work that we do for our Union clients as an extension of our passion for justice, which is why we are willing to take on big companies and complex matters in pursuit of what is right.
We provide a wide variety of legal services to our Union clients, including contract negotiations, filing and handling of claims with the NLRB, arbitrations and breach of contract litigation, and Reverse Boy’s Market claims, which create a restraining order preventing the company from taking action that would cause the Union irreparable harm. We also defend Unions in breach of the duty of fair representation cases. In addition, we regularly offer our services on an individual basis to Union members.
Our commitment to justice and fairness for people, along with our knowledge of labor law and advocacy skills, may make us the right fit for your organization. Please contact us to discuss how we may provide services to you.
